A dívida pública federal registrou uma alta de 1,51% em fevereiro deste ano, na comparação com janeiro. Os dados foram divulgados nesta quarta-feira (29/3) pela Secretaria do Tesouro Nacional.

A dívida ficou em R$ 5,856 trilhões em fevereiro. Em janeiro, era de R$ 5,77 trilhões.

A dívida pública é emitida pelo Tesouro para o pagamento de despesas acima da arrecadação com impostos e demais tributos pela União.

Os valores incluem o endividamento do governo no Brasil e no exterior. A maior parte da dívida, no entanto, é interna.
