Um dos principais líderes do grupo Jihad Islâmica, Tayseer al Jabari, morreu nesta sexta-feira (5/8), em um bombardeio de Israel sobre a Faixa de Gaza.

“O movimento da Jihad Islâmica na Palestina e sua ala militar, a Brigada Al Quds, lamentam a morte do grande comandante jihadista Tayseer al Jabari ‘Abu Mahmud’, morto em um assassinato sionista na cidade de Gaza”, diz o comunicado do grupo.

Além de al Jabari, oito pessoas morreram no ataque, incluindo uma menina de 5 anos, segundo palestinos. Autoridades israelenses, por outro lado, afirmam que o bombardeio deixou 15 vítimas. Segundo o porta-voz do Exército, Richard Hecht, o ataque foi uma ação preventiva.
